Fresno, CA – On August 13, 2017, at approximately 1229 hours, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Fresno Communications Center (FCC) received a call of a pedestrian down at Millerton Road and Winchell Cove Road. Upon the arrival of Fresno CHP officers, it was determined to be a fatal hit and run collision.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect vehicle was traveling westbound on Millerton Road at an undetermined speed. Mrs. Santos was walking north across Millerton Road at Winchell Cove Road when the suspect vehicle being driven by an unidentified person struck Mrs. Santos. Mrs. Santos was later located lying on the right shoulder of Millerton Road by passing motorist and they called 911. Medical and law enforcement officials arrived on scene to render aid to Mrs. Santos. Medical personnel determined that Mrs. Santos had succumbed to her injuries on scene.
On August 15, 2017, the California Highway Patrol Fresno Area Special Services Unit located evidence at the scene. The suspect vehicle has been identified as a 2011-2014 Dodge Charger of an unknown color. The suspect vehicle should have damage to the right front end.
