On October 30, 2017, Agents with Merced Area Gang Narcotic Enforcement Team (M.A.G.N.E.T.) served a search warrant at a residence in the 600 Block of Driftwood Ave. During the search, Agents seized approximately 988 marijuana plants and located an illegal electrical bypass being used to power the grow operation.
Los Banos Police Detective Marcelino Cortez was the lead investigator in the case, which resulted in 24-year-old Matias Menera-Flores being placed under arrest at the residence. Minera-Flores was booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail, charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales and theft of utility services over $400.00.
