On April 15, 2018, at approximately 2312 hours, the Fresno Communications Center (FCC) received a call of a pedestrian lying in the roadway on Willow Avenue south of Grant Avenue. Officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined the pedestrian had been struck by an unknown vehicle, which had fled the scene.pedestrian had suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
Through preliminary investigation, it appears the pedestrian was walking on Willow Avenue south of Grant Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Willow Avenue. The hit and run vehicle fled the scene. A witness later observed the pedestrian lying in the roadway and called 9-1-1.
The hit and run vehicle is possibly a mid-90’s Mercedes E-Class sedan. The vehicle likely sustained a shattered windshield and a broken headlight. The color of the vehicle is not known.
