Each year, our family hosts a blood drive in honor of my mom, Debbie Parreira. My mom passed away six years ago from Cancer. She was raised here in Los Banos and was active in the community volunteering, farming with my dad and raising three children. We have chosen to honor her memory with an annual blood drive on June 11th from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Los Banos Fairgrounds, 403 “F” Street, in the O’Banion Building, because giving blood saves lives. Debbie had a wonderful heart and left a deep void in our family and our community when she left. Each pint we are able to collect makes a difference to three people in need as well as to those that love them. If you aren’t able to donate blood, please send a friend who can.
