Students attending Tiger Prowl get to go through picture taking, and other activities as well as visit tables representing some of the many clubs offered to them to enhance their school experience.
S CLUB MEETS TIGER PROWL-Students visiting the S Club booth were greeted with these questions when they visited S Club leader Lara Olson: Do you like to volunteer, be involved, have fun, and make a difference?
“S “Clubs are designed for High School students who want to do these things. The local club, which was chartered in 1999, is sponsored by the Soroptimist, who inspire students to improve their own lives and the lives of women and girls in school and in their community. They do this by becoming involved with meaningful service projects. Some of the club’s past activities include their Cinderella Project that was a boutique set up for students in need of prom dresses and accessories, helping with events such as the Soroptimist Victorian Tea, the Memorial Hospital Gala, set up and staffing of the Lost Child Booth at the Spring Fair, helping with the Women’s Health Fair, helping with the Soroptimist Saturday of Service, and assisting with canned food drives that benefit our local food bank. They work in conjunction with teachers and students creating a positive school experience. The club helps build future leaders and encourages high standards and ideals.
The first meeting of the S Club will be held on Wednesday August 21st at lunchtime in Room 19. For full article, please purchase a copy of The Paper.
