As part of National Volunteer Week, Merced County Supervisors honored seven individuals and four organizations for their volunteerism on April 8th. On hand to help celebrate service and honor the volunteers were representatives of Congressman Jim Costa, State Senator Anthony Canella and Assembly Member Adam Gray. Prior to introducing the volunteers, Supervisor O’Banion reminded the audience that many services would be less or nonexistent without the volunteers. With the help of a Screening Committee four of the Supervisors chose two recipients for Volunteer of the Year. Supervisor O’Banion (District 5) chose three.
