On Saturday, May 17th the Los Banos Genealogical Society (The Tree Shakers) hosted guest speaker Dan Coggin. Mr. Coggin is a retired Deputy for Merced County who has worked with Hector Garibay (The Tree Shakers President) for many years. Mr. Coggin has worked in the Identification Division of the Department for forty two years. Before moving to Merced County he worked in L.A. Before the use of computers and DNA, Mr. Coggin used photos and finger print analysis to identify suspects and victims of crimes. The process was time consuming and very hands on.
