Every year, through cooperative mutual-aid agreements, CAL FIRE/Merced County Fire Department and the Los Banos City Fire Department respond to over 300 motor vehicle accidents within their jurisdictions; many of them requiring technical rescue operation to safely remove patients from the vehicle and provide life-saving medical treatment. This amount of call volume requires the response of professional, well trained company officers and fire fighters. Through yearly multi-company rescue training exercise, these firefighters are able to enhance and share learned knowledge and skills.
