Let’s be frank, turning on the news usually leaves one feeling, at minimum, a sense of concern. Despite all the reassuring smiles and calmness provided by Anchors, followed by an affirming, “Have a wonderful evening”, you can’t help but think in contrast. The fact of the matter is, terrible things are being reported at top priority every single day. Headlines blaring with shootings, robberies, and acts of terrorism engulf television screens and periodicals across the world daily. We as a society continue to feed the never ending barrage of negativity by not averting our eyes. One could argue that you cannot simply close your eyes from all the bad in the world. However, it seems in doing so we’re forgetting to keep an eye out for the good. Serving news to a society has transformed to keeping us excited and feeding on our own emotions.
