The annual Chamber of Commerce Downtown Christmas parade, despite the regular downpour of rain, was a wonderful success. To look out and see so many smiling faces from our community enjoying the parade makes all our efforts worthwhile. The new parade route enabled parade watchers to have a “front row” seat as the parade could be viewed from Fourth Street, K Street and 6th Street this year. Many of the residents on Fourth Street got a chance to watch the parade from their front porches. Over 70 entries were lined up near the fairgrounds by event co-chairs Gene Leib and Duane Brehm along with their crew of Kathy Ballard, Tony Whitehurst, Tom Kaljian, Jeanette King, Sandy Lemas, Cassandra Helmrick, Harriet Schott and Leane Santos-Sousa.
