MODESTO, CA – Sutter Health Central Valley Region President David P. Benn announced today that Rick Liszewski, Chief Executive Officer at Memorial Hospital Los Banos (MHLB), is retiring from Sutter Health, effective March 14, 2014.
Liszewski’s career with Sutter Health started in 1998 at CPMC where he was the site Administrator of the Davies campus. In 2006 he joined Memorial Hospital Los Banos. Under Liszewski’s leadership, the hospital this year was recognized by The Joint Commission as a top performer in pneumonia care and has the highest quality results of any Sutter Health hospital. Over the past few years MHLB received the Sutter Health President’s Award for best dashboard performance twice and for most improved performance three times. “Rick supported his employees and medical staff and enabled them to provide the highest level of care possible to the patients of Los Banos by implementing the Sutter EHR, creating a hospitalist program, starting a telestroke program and contracting with cardiologists to provide 24/7 cardiac coverage to the community” said Benn. Liszewski maintained strong relationships with local community and business leaders and last year convened a meeting of the major healthcare providers in the western Merced County/Los Banos area about rural healthcare under healthcare reform.
